Tuesday 2nd March, Curved Ridge? No!

We intended to do Curved Ridge and walk down the buttress to the right from the 902m top

This was the depth of snow outside the Lagangarbh hut. Here is Christian, with me for just the 1 day.

We had to abandon our Curved ridge plan and go to plan b and Steall Falls. Here we found PYB with a mass ascent at an early stance on the climb.

Christian wanted to do Tower Ridge, but his suitcase from Paris didn't arrive, so plans had to change and revolve around getting him kitted out in winter kit before we started. We headed for Curved ridge after a late start and found the first 30 mins of the walk arduous with very deep snow. We decided to turn around and abandon our plan and retreat to do Steall Falls.
Steall was busy busy but luckily the crouds had moved high up onto the climb as we arrived. Chrisitan had a great day. On the same day Mike Pescod from Abacus Mountaineering climbed Orion Direct.
