Catrin Goes Climbing

Catrin had another terrific Gower climbing day today, 13 climbs and 10 abseils. The highlights for me included 'Superdirect' and 'South Edge'. It took a lot to challenge her, but in the end we managed to find some climbs to match her young talent. A star in the making I think...

Peru

Back from Peru.
I want to say thank you to the Team - Alpaca - thank you to the Assistant Exped Leader, Henry Fairwood, thank you to the 2 Link teachers (staff from Altrincham Grammar school for Girls), Lynda Abrahams and Jen Bailey. Thank you and congratulations to the team - Dinithi, Serena, Ayna, Nathalie, Joanne, Arwen, Ellie, Magda, Emily, Laura, Katie, Frankie, Kirsty, Steph and Lauren.
Some of us got sick (continuing best wishes to Laura), but on the most part we had a fantastic time. We spent a week in the jungle near Bolivia, we went on the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, we went in the Hot springs in Santa Teresa, saw the Nasca lines, went to the oasis of Huacachina (and went on dune buggies), toured the Paracas Natural Reserve and the Ballestas islands. We even celebrated my birthday in Machu Picchu (am) and Cusco (pm).
I'm looking forward to seeing them all again - hopefully in September. Best wishes to Ellie for her big move - I wish I could make more jokes about you know what lol.

Off To Peru

On Tuesday this week I'm off to meet my group for our trip to Peru. I hope to try and keep up to date with my emails in Peru in the cybercafes. We get back on 2nd August. Hopefully I'll have some good photos to post in this blog...

A Big Splash Finish

The week with Outposts finished with lots of games at Llandovery College. The group had a chance to get us with Lee's water bombs, but the result was never in doubt - They all got wet - again. Agreat finish in hot humid weather.

I'm now off for a few days until I start with Outlook on Tuesday next week. I've been learning a little Latin American Spanish. (a little)....

Making Waves At Porth

A day at Porth. A chance to meet friends from Kilvrough, Woodlands etc. This was my last day in the cave for possibly months. Another hot day in the car park, so we enjoyed all the watersports the cave had to offer..

A Refreshing Change In This Heat

With Outposts Ltd today we went for some welcome caving. The staff and all the girls got stuck in (not literally) and particularly enjoyed the caving watersports - here you can see staff enjoying the 'Washing Machine'. I think it was the hottest day of the heatwave so far - and definitely felt like it standing in the carpark in a caving suit !!

Not many days to take off for Peru now...

A Hot Day - Another !

Last day of climbing with Outposts Ltd today (Tuesday). It was a big operation, but lots of satisfied customers. A very hot day - I think they were glad to move on to Gorge walking for a wetting. After being in a sun trap for days, I'm ready for caving tomorrow..
