Sunday - The Plum And Merlin

Kat on the steep section of pitch 1 of Merlin

Climbing into the afternoon sun

Belaying for pitch 2 - the next leader is on his way up to the belay

Is she on a tricky move lol. Kat about to traverse over to the end of pitch 2

Difficulties over

There was a lot of rain over night and the weather was due to be showery, so it was a good day to visit Tremadog. Tremadog had people starting early as usual, but somehow not me!

I decided to start with The Plum (E1 5b). Yes, the awkward corner was awkward, and the v-groove was bold. We belayed after the v-groove. An awesome place for a belay, watching all the action on all sorts of climbs around us. The prominent crack was excellent exposed climbing. An awesome climb. We got to the ground again and I realised I had barely ate or drunk anything - got to get used to this sunny weather (will even break out the suncream again).
We moved onto Merlin - another awesome climb. I remembered I soloed pitch 1 about 2 years ago - definitely couldn't do that today - the sun had definitely got to me !
Summer's here :)

Saturday - The Direct Route And Tennis Shoe

Dancing or climbing?
So, we left the Slate Quarries and Llanberis for something different to finish the day. We headed to Ogwen and Idwal Slabs - The Direct Route (HVS 4c) + Tennis Shoe (HS). We managed to climb and keep in the sun as the shade was creeping up the slab.
We lucked out with the weather today, would we be so lucky tomorrow?

Saturday - Seams The Same

Kat starting on Seams the Same

After Seamstress, Seams the Same (E1 5b) seemed like a good idea. So we got on with it - It was awesome. It was a little bold, but well protected.

Saturday - Seamstress

Kat starting up Seamstress

We left Australia and headed for Serengeti, and the Seamstress Slab. It was a little busy when we got there, but we soon got onto Seamstress (VS 4c), shown above.

Saturday - Cyber World

Kat starting CyberWorld

Approaching the roof

Making the strenuous moves right onto the arete

After Looning the Tube we natuarally headed for Cyber World (6a+), on the tier above Looning the Tube Area, for a different style of climb.

Saturday - Looning The Tube

Kat on Looning the Tube after the traverse on the wall above 'the tube'

On the final section after the second bolt

I got to North Wales late !! So after meeting Kat we started climbing in the afternoon. The parking in Llanberis was already full, so we decided to start on slate in the quarries. We started on Looning the Tube (E1 5b) for a little blod slate action.
