All dry on The Clean Sweep

A bit of a late posting here from an outing on Saturday.

Despite the lack of posts i have been super busy amidst the hot days and getting out kayaking, climbing and working in various guises indoors and outdoors.

On Saturday Iain and I had a great day if somewhat toasty over at Hells Lum climbing The Clean Sweep (VS***).  Everything is so dry at the moment which doesn't surprise me when there's tales of fires and concerns over them starting.

There's not much to say really other than the weather, environment and climbing were great.  Much needed...  Se heres some pics form the day.

Amongst the wildlife we met were Grouse and their young, Ptarmigan in full summer colours with small chicks and some of the smaller birds on the Plateau who were happy to come say hello.

The big yellow budgie also made an appearance!

Hells Lum and the Clean Sweep slabs.

Iain starting off on pitch 1.

On the whaleback.

Belay at the top of Pitch 2 showing the rest of Clean Sweep (VS***).

Iain climbing the second 4c pitch.

Approaching the final belay just below the top out.

The Loch Avon basin showing Stag Rocks on the left and Carn Etchachan hiding behind The Shelterstone crag on the right.  Swim anyone?!
