Onto The Rock With Second Years

Ellen on Pinnacle Ridge on Wednesday - Callum behind

On Wednesday I was with UHI (University of Highlands and Islands) WHC ATM second year degree students Ellen and Callum. The weather was forecast to be heavy rain, strong winds and cold for the entire day, so I was surprised to find the rock dry when we first arrived in Glen Nevis. In the dry we quickly got onto Pinnacle Ridge before the rain started. Then we spent the rest of the day looking at gear placement and belay construction at several venues. It felt like the first day of winter.
