Buachaille Etive Beag
Day 2 of the 'Intro to Winter Mountaineering' course with Jagged Globe. The 12 on the course are Sarah B, Victoria B, Tom D W, Jeff Flynn, Adam F, Oli L, James P, Oli P, Georgie R, Nigel T, Alex T and James W. Today we wanted to put what we had learnt yesterday into context, so we headed off to the ever popular Buachaille Etive Beag. Again we had very poor vis..
We made it to the summit.. We found a friendly walker who volunteered to take our photo, so spot myself, Alex and Dave (Dave has now joined us for the rest of the course to lower the ratio down to 1:4)...
We moved away from the summit and started to learn about harnesses, ropes, knots, carabiners, slings, rock anchors, snow anchors, body belaying and bucket seats. They have homework tonight to practice in the warm and dry.... We'll continue to work on these skills over the next few days as we battle with the 'Scottish' weather that's on it's way !!
