Day 2 of our Mountaineering course, and we headed over to Ballachulish and the NE ridge. Wary of the avalanche prone slopes we wanted to stay on ridges. We also wanted a bit of fun and excitement for the team.. We learnt how to put harnesses on last night, so now let's use them..
We took all the possible difficult lines. Unfortunately there was very poor visibility and so the team couldn't see the exposure around them.. Or even the view from the top.
Thank goodness there was a track most of the way up - somebody worked hard yesterday!! We made our way down the north ridge in very poor vis and managed to avoid all the windslab on the way down. This was hard work in all the waist deep snow. On our way down we met Rona (who told us off for stepping over a wire fence)
- oops. Tomorrow will be awesome weather - so we'll definitely make the most of it with an adventure somewhere..
