My last day with Hein. Today he wanted to do a more technical day and if possible an abseil. The temperature went through the roof today, and the freezing level was at about 3000m - everything was melting. By the end of the day there was no snow on the Ballachulish NE ridge! We headed for the Zig Zags and worked on his footwork in his new Scarpa Vegas. Later we had him standing on tiny toe edges with his rigid boots. 
We didn't need crampons on Zig Zags today - or an axe - hardly any snow!
Okay here we go - abseiling... We did 2 abs looking at how to be safe. 
I had a great 3 days with Hein - Thank you. Hopefully after last year, Hein now has a lot more confidence in Scottish Winter Mountaineering, knows it can be fun and hopefully he'll be back looking for more fun...
