Stob Coire Nan Lochan

On Wednesday this week the Winter Mountaineering team for Jagged Globe headed for Glencoe for a journey to practice some of the skills they learnt on Monday at Aonach Mor. It turned out to be a day of brilliant weather, with often stunning views of Glencoe. We found a snow slope leading up towards the ridge, and followed the ridge line to the summit of Stob Coire nan Lochan.

After the summit we opted for a descent of Broad gully to get more snow and crampon experience.

Broad gully peppered with loose stones from recent stone fall - no stone fall today.

When the rock is dry - it'll be ready for some chilly trad climbing!

Back to the Coire base, and back to the van to complete a great day for the team. This is the second consequtive week on snow for Sharon and she's making grat progress. Tomorrow we'll do ice axe arrests and snow anchors before a journey again on Friday to complete the week - and the Jagged Globe season of 2012.
