Number 2 Gully

Castle Ridge and gullies

On Wednesday we decided to take our Winter Mountaineering (Jagged Globe) team to the Ben and both groups decided to climb Number 2 Gully. There weren't many climbs to choose from, but all the teams on the mountain (most of the instructors were under assessment) managed to find their own space.

There mountain looks lean at the moment, but the climbs that are still there are still good, but most climbs are now broken or missing.

Looking up into Number 2 Gully

Number 2 gully was in relatively good condition. There was a lot of ice in the upper reaches, and I had 1 ice belay, before the top.

This was the first Ben Nevis climb for all the clients, so congratulations to all, Douglas, Chris, Stephan and Jeff.
