Peter and Dan - Pitch 1 of Twisting Gully |
With a doubtful forecast including strong winds and poor vis, we headed off to Stob Coire nan Lochan in Glencoe, hoping to get something done. We got up into the coire in very poor vis, I managed to find Twisting Gully from memory and recognising the rock of the cliffs. The walk in was poor slushy snow, but as we gained altitude the snow firmed up and on the climb the snow was hero neve and the ice was thick and great fun. The Climb was in the best condition I've known it.
Pitch 2 was the best I've known it - the best ice and neve |
Good ice for screws and hero neve |
