Working for Jagged Globe today with Eddie Knightly on his last day of his 2 week course. We spent the morning looking at navigational skills to enable him to effectiviely navigate off mountains at the end of a climb. We moved onto review his 2 weeks, what he has learnt, where he is at, and where he needs to go from here. He is going to go home to Essex and start indoor rock climbing, have climbing trips to North Wales, and his next big trip will be to the Alps on the Alpine Intro and Mont Blanc Extension. He then goes to Aconcagua in December, and Cho Oyu net year! I think we'll see him back here next year for a week of Snow and Ice Climbing in Scotland too...
The temp has steadily been dropping up the hill and is currently below 0 degrees at 1100m in Lochaber and 7 degrees in For William. There was heavy rain this morning which decreased to drizzle and now it is dry. Hopefully the temperature will stay below 0 at 1100m but the freezing level will then rise again above the summits during the morning.
